Perch began in 2010 as the customer-facing arm of BlueWave Solar and was spun out and rebranded as Perch Energy in 2021, earning B Corp certification along the way. In March 2025 Perch and Arcadia's community solar subsidiary merged into a new standalone venture majority-owned by Arcadia, with Perch CEO Bruce Stewart leading the combined company from Perch's Back Bay offices in Boston; the combined platform manages more than 1,000 solar projects across 16 states and roughly 3 GW of capacity. Perch reports more than $90 million in cumulative subscriber discounts and 9 billion kWh of managed production, and it is known for commercial-subscriber servicing and production-to-payment reporting.
