Founded in 2020 by Sonia Kastner and Arvind Satyam, Pano AI installs high-definition panoramic cameras on ridgelines and towers, runs computer vision over the feeds to flag smoke, and has human intelligence officers confirm incidents before dispatching alerts with triangulated coordinates and live imagery. Coverage reached roughly 30 million acres across the US, Canada and Australia. Utility customers include Xcel Energy, Portland General Electric, Puget Sound Energy, Avista and Austin Energy, alongside the Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service and Fish and Wildlife Service. A $44M Series B in June 2025 led by Giant Ventures, with Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures and Tokio Marine Future Fund, took total funding to about $89M.
