New York-based developer whose transmission arm is advancing two of the largest HVDC lines in the US alongside a utility-scale generation and storage portfolio.
energyRe was launched with backing from principals of Related Companies and named Miguel Prado CEO and Ryan Brown COO in December 2021, both recruited from EDP Renewables North America. Its transmission portfolio includes SOO Green, a 350-mile, 2,100 MW underground HVDC link along an existing rail corridor from Mason City, Iowa to Illinois that would tie MISO to PJM, and Clean Path NY, a partnership with Invenergy and the New York Power Authority combining a 175-mile transmission line with new in-state wind and solar. The company also develops utility-scale solar — including the Platt Solar Project in Phelps County, Nebraska and five contracted projects in South Carolina — plus battery storage.
