Transource was created to let two large utility parents pursue competitively bid transmission work, combining AEP's transmission engineering with Evergy's Midwest presence. The company plans, permits, builds and operates transmission assets to NERC reliability standards, and has developed projects in PJM and SPP — including the contested Independence Energy Connection in Pennsylvania and Maryland, awarded through PJM's market efficiency window. It positions itself on cost containment, schedule certainty and environmental routing work such as wetland and endangered-species mitigation.
