Large-active-area alkaline electrolysers engineered to follow variable renewable power without losing efficiency.
Verdagy's eDynamic advanced alkaline water electrolysis uses an unusually large single-cell architecture to hold efficiency across a wide dynamic operating range — which matters when the power source is wind or solar rather than the grid. The company opened a factory of more than 100,000 square feet in Newark, California in late 2024 to build its 20 MW eDynamic modules, with high-volume production starting in Q1 2025. The plant is supported by a $39.6 million US Department of Energy grant awarded in 2024. Investors include Temasek and Shell Ventures, who co-led a $73 million Series B.
