Founded in 2009 in Bolzano and employing roughly 1,100 people, Alpitronic has developed and built Hyperchargers since 2017 across a 50 kW to 1,000 kW range - the wall-mountable HYC50, compact HYC200, HYC400 and the distributed HYC1000 - with average efficiency it puts above 97.5%, and it runs its own power-cycling test lab for semiconductor modules. The installed base is about 131,000 charging ports in 62 countries handling roughly 325,000 sessions a day. It opened a 68,000 sq ft US headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2024 with a diagnostics lab, repair centre, parts warehouse and training centre and a planned 300 jobs, and builds US units at a plant in Appleton, Wisconsin, including chargers for the Mercedes-Benz network.
