Volkswagen-backed US public fast charging network, built out of the diesel emissions consent decree and now past 1,000 stations.

Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Electrify America was created as a Volkswagen subsidiary to discharge obligations from the 2016 diesel emissions consent decree, and is owned by Volkswagen Group of America (82%) with Siemens holding 18% following its 2022 investment. As of August 2026 it operated about 1,080 stations with more than 5,600 DC fast connectors, roughly 1,100 of them rated at 350 kW, one of the densest ultra-fast footprints in the country. It also signs charging-access agreements with other automakers, who bundle free or discounted charging into new EV sales.
