dcbel's Ara Core combines an EV charger, solar input and battery interface in a single wall-mounted unit, routing energy between car, panels, home and grid automatically and keeping the house running through outages; the base model targets about 25% energy independence and the +solar variant about 85%. Alongside the hardware the company sells Capacity, a platform for energy companies to forecast grid flexibility, manage real-time transactions and launch consumer programmes, and its devices have been enrolled in California's Emergency Load Reduction Program. Investors include Coatue, VY Capital, Volvo Cars, Real Ventures, SNR, WTI, Idealist Capital and Investissement Quebec; coverage in May 2026 put installations at close to 200 in California, with a Massachusetts pilot also under way.
